Sunito M. Leslie began her legal career in New York City, where she was an associate at two leading law firms in the heart of New York’s Financial District.  She has also practiced in Charlotte, N.C.—the second largest U.S. banking center—as well in the offices of a major international law firm in the Dubai International Financial Center, United Arab Emirates. Sunito has participated in representing U.S.-based and multinational entities across various industries in domestic and international cross-border transactions, involving complex corporate, finance and real estate issues. A substantial part of her practice has included representing institutions in the financial services industry and other major participants in the United States, Middle East and European capital markets. Utilizing strong analytical, drafting and negotiation skills, Sunito has advised clients such as municipalities, governmental authorities, quasi-governmental entities, financial institutions and private entities, in public finance projects related to, healthcare, economic development, public utility, education and not-for-profit entities; Fortune 500 companies, in debt and equity security offerings; and other capital market participants, in structured finance transactions, including asset-backed securities such as collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) and commercial mortgage-backed securities.  Further, Sunito has represented economic development entities in a variety of public-private partnerships and incentive programs designed to promote economic growth.

Sunito’s professional experience includes counseling corporate entities regarding issues related to formation, governance, employees, shareholders, and operations. During the course of such representations, Sunito has become adept at advising clients on compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while remaining cognizant of the client’s business goals and objectives.  Sunito has learned to collaborate with stakeholders to counsel clients on business strategy and mitigation of risks, while identifying creative and practical resolutions to legal and commercial issues.

Applying her multi-disciplinary background with keen attention to detail, committed advocacy and commitment to the highest standards of professionalism, Sunito also represents individuals in matters related to their personal financial affairs.

In addition to her work at leading law firms, Sunito’s experience includes working in corporate governance in the general counsel’s office of a Fortune 500 company; and advising healthcare service providers, as well as investors in the healthcare industry in connection with corporate, finance and healthcare regulatory matters.

Prior to her legal career, Sunito worked in government as a senior legislative assistant in The Florida Senate.
